Parrot and Macaw Biology Project
There are 16 breeding species of parrots, parakeets and macaws in Miami-Dade County. Although these birds are not native to Florida, these amazing birds have attracted the attention and curiosity of many people. Help us to study the parrots, parakeets, and macaws at the University of Miami.
The project will allow the University of Miami to focus on mapping these species distribution, movements, feeding habits and breeding behavior.
The Parrot and Macaw Biology Fund was established in October 2020 thanks to the generosity of Parrot lover and conservationist, Ms. Daria Feinstein. We thank Ms. Feinstein for her support in raising awareness for this important cause that we plan to continue to grow at the University of Miami.
