Ready to Care for Our Patients

During this unprecedented time, UHealth - the University of Miami Health System - and the Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine have continued to care for patients and our community.
 
Some notable highlights include:

  • Maintaining our U.S. News & World Report ranking as the number one eye hospital in the nation (Bascom Palmer Eye Institute) for the 19th year.
  • Launching UHealth Virtual Clinics, a robust telemedicine program with more than 225,000 Telehealth visits so far to patients with access to primary care physicians and nearly 40 clinical speciality areas.
  • Conducting more than 900 clinical trials to advance new therapeutics and life-saving research.
  • Advancing cancer treatment through the opening of the Dwoskin Proton Therapy Center at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
  • Launching U-TRACE - the UM Tracking, Resources and Assessment of COVID-19 Epidemiology - to lead expert contact tracing for Miami-Dade County.
  • Developing a COVID-19 point-of-care, diagnostic rapid-test that is currently awaiting FDA approval.
