About the James W. McLamore Society
James W. McLamore is synonymous with philanthropy and service. As the founder of Burger King, Coral Gables resident, and committed member of the University family, McLamore helped to transform the University of Miami. He served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the University of Miami for ten years, the longest term ever served. While on the board, he raised $500,000 million during the first capital campaign.
McLamore Society members qualify for unique perks such as special event invitations, an exclusive digital newsletter, a bi-annual impact statement of giving, and members-only U merchandise.

McLamore Society members provide the University of Miami the ability to be a global institution, achieve the highest standards of performance, connect academics and research to real-world solutions, and lead as a model for others.
James W. McLamore Society
Members of the James. W. McLamore Society make the largest collective impact on the University of Miami. Last year over 6,000 members collectively provided $537 million in support of students, faculty, staff, researchers, and clinicians. The leadership society includes individuals who have cumulative gifts of $1,000 or more during the fiscal year ending May 31. Young alumni from the last ten years are eligible to become members of the McLamore Society with a cumulative gift of $500 or more.

Employer Match:Did you know you can double or triple your gift if your employer matches your donation? All matching gifts are included in your total giving amount used to determine your McLamore Society eligibility. You can check online or contact us at 1-866-862-5867 or at philanthropicgiving@miami.edu to find out if your employer participates. If your company does participate in our matching gift program, contact your HR department to initiate their match process.
